Chief Executive Officer
Patty has enjoyed many years of employment at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Toms River. She was originally hired as the evening nursing supervisor, promoted to the chief nursing officer, and assumed her role as chief executive officer in 1996. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from New Jersey City University. Patty is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN®) and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) with many years of administrative and clinical experience. Patty was the former chair of the American Hospital Association’s Governing Council for Long Term Care and Rehabilitation. She currently serves as the vice-chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association’s (NJHA) HealthPAC Committee, and a member of NJHA’s Rehabilitation Advisory Council. Additionally, she is a member of HealthSouth’s National Nursing Advisory Board, on the Board of Advisors for the American Cancer Society, the Board of Directors for Ocean Health Initiatives, and is a newly appointed board member for the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. Patty integrates HealthSouth in the central New Jersey community by participating in meaningful local organizations. Patty has been married to her husband Ted for 30 years. Together they have two beautiful daughters.
Carol Sonatore, D.O., FAAPMR
Dr. Sonatore earned her bachelor's degree at Long Island University in Brookville, New York. She received her D.O. from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition, Dr. Sonatore attended NYU Medical Center/ Rusk Institute for her residency training in PM&R as well as fellowship training in cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation. Dr. Sonatore provides comprehensive rehabilitative care for cardiopulmonary, brain injury and stroke, among other medical conditions.
Carol Sonatore, D.O., FAAPMR is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.
Director of Therapy Operations
Maryalice has been employed by HealthSouth since 1998, formerly serving as a staff physical therapist in HealthSouth’s Whiting Outpatient Center, and therapy manager for HealthSouth’s Jackson Outpatient Center. In 2009, Maryalice assumed the position of therapy manager for HealthSouth’s Transitional Care Unit at Community Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in general studies, Master of Science in physical therapy, and doctorate of physical therapy from Misericordia University. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as the New Jersey Physical Therapy Association.
Director of Plant Operations
Nick joined HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Toms River in May 2011. Most recently he served as a regional director of physical plant of a large, skilled nursing company and brings extensive knowledge in facility and safety management to the hospital. Nick is recognized by the American Hospital Association as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager.He also is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs as a New Jersey building inspector, building sub code official as well as a construction official. Nick is a member of the National Fire Protection Association with over 35 years of fire fighting experience.
Certified Case Management Director
Julie has been with HealthSouth since 1991 and was promoted to her current position in 1999. She holds an associate’s degree in nursing from the College of Staten Island in New York. Julie has more than 25 years in health care experience.
Director of Pharmacy
Brian is a graduate of the University Of Rhode Island College Of Pharmacy. He began his employment with HealthSouth in August of 1998 as the director of pharmacy. After stepping aside as the director of pharmacy in 2000, Brian expanded his professional background through a number of employment opportunities. Brian returned as the director of pharmacy in 2007. He brought with him experience in sales, sterile compounding and retail pharmacy. In 2009 Brian was asked to be the regional director of pharmacy for the Northeast Region.
Lori Munyan, PHR, LRC, CCM
Director of Human Resources
Lori has held a variety of professional and leadership positions at HealthSouth Toms River since 1995. She holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Seton Hall University and achieved the designation of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in 2008. In addition, Lori is licensed in the state of New Jersey as a rehabilitation counselor (LRC) and is certified as a case manager (CCM). Lori is an active member of the community, advocating for individuals with disabilities. She previously served as the treasurer for the New Jersey Statewide Independent Living Council.
Director of Marketing Operations
Solangie has been employed by HealthSouth since 2008, formerly serving as a clinical rehabilitation liaison at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls. In 2014, Solangie assumed the position of senior rehabilitation liaison/marketing coordinator for HealthSouth Toms River. With 18 years’ experience as an account executive for a radio station in Puerto Rico, Solangie’s business development and strategic planning skills are proven assets to the HealthSouth Toms River leadership team. Solangie is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce and also sits on the community advisory board for HealthSouth Toms River. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pace University in New York, New York.
Coleen Rossi, RN, MBA, CCM
Director of Quality Services
As the director of quality services, Coleen has more than 30 years of healthcare and rehabilitation experience. She has been with HealthSouth since 1988. She has experience in inpatient and outpatient satellite operations and case management. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from College Misericordia and a master's degree in business administration from Western New England College. She is also a certified case manager (CCM).
Janet joined HealthSouth in October 2011, bringing with her more than 35 years of demonstrated success in the areas of overall healthcare financial operations. Previously, she was the chief financial officer of a Southern NJ acute rehabilitation hospital and in the past has served in various managerial roles in several Northern NJ acute care hospitals, as well as healthcare financial consulting roles with various NJ firms. Janet received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Montclair State University and her master'ss in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
